Moonhut Bungalow, Maenam Beach This is written from the perspective of a mother of a 15 month old.Moonhut Bungalows is a great little place to stay in Maenam, if you are a couple who want a quiet getaway, of any age. The beach is kept beautifully and you have the restaurant/reception no more than 10m away from you. It is easy enough to get a cab to a different beach if you want more activity but the beach and sea really are lovely just here.Food in the restuarant is quick and pretty good. No childrens options and no small size dishes so its full price rather than some great places we stayed at where they accomodated for children.Breakfast is not included. The young staff that work here are wonderful. Inparticular Sun who was excellent with the baby who formed a real attachment to him. All of the staff are lovely so its such a pity that the owners are so standoffish and occasionally rude. The English owner snarls around as if the world has done him wrong, dont take it personally, he s like that with everybody!Again, as a mother I write this comment, if I were a backpacker it wouldnt faze me but the owners have huskie dogs that are not trained at all. They regularly begged in the restaurant and would come up and into your room and snarl if you tried to get them to leave. They are on face level with children. I LOVE dogs, I did not trust these dogs one bit.The beach: As I said, it is beautiful but there are no umbrellas so no shade away from the sun, again fine for sunbathing, not for kids. And in the shady area there are millions of ants, bitey ones. This review makes Moonhut sound poor. It is not. The accomodation is basic but clean and the staff are lovely. The food is fine and the location briliant. As a backpacker I would give this place a 3.5 out of 5. As a mother I would give it 2.Tip: Dont bother about the beach facing bungalows as only Bungalow one is actually beach facing. (although these are the only ones that have fridges). If you are not worried about teh Fridge ask for B2, you can see the sea from your balcony and its 500 baht cheaper!Oh, if you want internet you have to pay 900 baht for the privillage!!!!
Always excellent.

Moonhut Bungalow, Maenam Beach Our family had a great time last week. The service was very good, very helpful with calling taxies. The only suggestions I would make are to get a few more umbrellas as they were usually used and more shade is needed. The other is that we really wanted to take a short snorkling trip but you boat was way too expensive. We had six people and would ve filled the boat but not at $450 each. Your food was wonderful. We often ate right there because it was the best on the beach. The kids loved the watermelon shakes.
PRetty easy.

Top, Note 1 A

Moonhut Bungalow, Maenam Beach We lived there for nine nights, in beachfront no 2. Location is very nice with 20 meters walk to the water. Rather coarse sand but OK. The pity is that you have to walk in sand everywhere from the bungalow. No walkways on stones or concrete to the restaurant or exit. There are friendly staff and food is tasty. The sea is rather muddy and not clean.
Very efficient and the driver waited for us on the airport as we expected. You don t have to pay all the rent until you arrive. That s why we choosed Moonhut.

Moonhut Bungalow, Maenam Beach Yep moonhut was great! The seaview were already booked so we got the next level down, still pretty much right on the beach! Sand isn t powdery like chawang, but still okay to walk on. Food was nice, but if you walk west down the beach you ll get to a fairly lively area with a few independent places, and other hotels. We went for new year. Most of us went over to Had Rin, but those who stayed said Moonhut did a really good party. The owners were very helpful in arranging things for us. Our friend left her camera in her room and they have found it and are posting it back. Would def recommend if you want to be right on the beach. I would go again.

Moonhut Bungalow, Maenam Beach We stayed for three nights in a standard bungalow, very good value for money, clean and nice. Very good roomservice, nice bar at the beach, food has a good standard, but nothing special. Good massage, relaxed atmosphere, no crowded beach even in peak season. We definatly can recommend moonhut bungalows.
Good service for bookings in advance. Easy and absolutely reliable.
